negative returns. 0% return would be incredible
![]() 12/23/2016 at 21:19 |

Yeah, I edited it after you made that comment realizing 0% return would mean that he didn’t lose any money.

In this case, likely -300% return

That Challenger reflects some poor life choices ... to dump what? 60 grand into a Chrysler product that’s not a Super Bee is not a choice a sane person makes. And the wheels are awful.

my “investment” in my civic is probably ~$17k over 12 years. but I’d never think to call selling it for less than that “a loss”.
but holy cow 100,000 on that thing, yeah, THAT is a hell of a loss. He should have just snorted cocaine

Oh, I wasn’t being snarky. I just just doubling down on the pointing-out-bad-ideas thing.

I’m so confused, so is that Challenger an R/T or an SRT. Because I remember having ambitious dreams in 2012 and wanted my dad to get me what then was a 2008 SRT8. EVEN THEN $41,000 was idiotic in my mind.

Kinda figured that, there isn’t a common modern car that is an investment.
![]() 12/23/2016 at 21:33 |

That Challenger with over $100k invested but with cheap Corolla logos front and back.
![]() 12/23/2016 at 21:34 |

lol nice catch
Would probably sell faster if it were a Corolla S too
![]() 12/23/2016 at 21:34 |

As pointed out by another oppo, it’s an R/T with an S badge next to it off of a Corolla...

I’ll compile a small list here, of the Houston area, to avoid starting a theme.
Actually seems legit.

Overall fairly fair collection, because Houston>PNW

I actually miss Washington :(
Edit: Screw it. I’m gonna make it it’s own post since the links are just links.

My real estate (and law) background tells me that, in some states, a pool increases the value of your house by a bit (CA, FL). But in other states, putting a $50,000 mountain lake pool in your backyard does not increase the value. It might even decrease it, because people w/ young kids don’t want them to drown. But in the automotive world, you’re not going to get anything close to a dollar-for-dollar payback.

nice touregg
I’d totally rock that Toyota van! Fix the piston rings, or better yet, a swap :o)

Regarding the T100, why would anyone just sell a car for someone because, “they don’t like it.” That’s stupid. When I got the TrailBlazer back in July, I complained about it but, to which my mother’s reply was something like, “ok whatever nerd,” so I realized that I would have to deal with it...until I crashed it.

The answer is that it’s just a CL lie. I see that line used all the time, just with the family member being either “son/wife/daughter.” Usually used when the price is a little too low. “Hmm this price seems a little — OH he’s selling it because he just wants it gone and hates money. And he’s only owned it for a few weeks. Sounds legit!”
